davie,

thank you,
I had an ancestor who lived at 124, Wellhouse Crescent, not sure what date they moved there.
The family name was Nicol , Alexander and wife Mary, not sure if they had children.
Still trying to find his death on Scotlandspeople but I am still having problems with the site since it started up again,
regards
jean

The problem is that the registration districts in the larger towns and cities don't seem to have been consistent over time. So the answer to the question, 'In which Registration District was Wellhouse Crescent?' may depend on when the event took place.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

I didn't think it was a registration district that Skippy was asking for? Historically, Easterhouse would probably have been in the Western district of Old Monkland, or very close at least. The district to the west of that again may have been Shettleston but, we are going way too far back.

I have a cousin who lives near Wellhouse and, going by the age of the houses there, I'd guess that there wouldn't be a registration district as we talk about them, didn't it all become modernised (or something) around 1975? Even if the houses were from the 1950s or 60s, didn't everyone have to go into Martha St to register a B,M or D?
After that it would simply be Glasgow for registration purposes.
I just assumed that Skippy wanted to know what point of the compass Easterhouse was on.

Lodger, this is like a classic case of different interpretations of the same question. Only Skippy can clarify what (s)he means.

The other complication, of course, is that if the person actually died in the Infirmary, the death would be registered in that district, which I think is Dennistoun?

Sorry for the confusion.
My problem is that a member on here kindly found a death for one of my ancestors who died at 124, Wellhouse Crescent but didn't say what year he died just the month.
