[REQ] Birth and Marriage Lookups

Hi,
I am trying to find the birth record (and Marriage record) for a Daisy McEwan, probable daughter of Peter and Mary Jane McEwan, who most likely was born after 1916.  She married Vivian Albert Sinnamon on the 8th of January 1936, and had one son, Vivian George Sinnamon, born about 1936.  Her husband Vivian died in 1937 (drowned) and her son died when he was 13 in December, 1949.  What I'd really like to know is what happened to Daisy after these losses, so if someone can find not only her Birth record, but also any and all Marriage records, it would be most appreciated.  Thank you.

Archives New Zealand (Christchurch office) hold the following Probate file :

[There is also a Probate file for her husband > Stanley Hugh Thomas FRASER - Christchurch -Retired driver - Year:  1983. ]

Didn't see a burial record for either on the Christchurch Libraries cemeteries database (so probably cremation.)

Her birth (and the death record indicates she was born > August 1916 ) doesn't appear on NZ BDM (online) under McEWAN / McEWEN or variants.

You've given probable parents names ... what more do you know about them ??

Firstly, thank you VERY much for the information you have provided, and I look forward to receiving your PM.  What I know of her parents, or who we presume are her parents, are from her brother, Peter McEwan, born 9 Feb 1912, who married the sister of Vivian Albert Sinnamon (Daisy's first husband), who was Vera Jane Sinnamon.  There is a book on the Omakau/Ophir area that says that Peter and Daisy are siblings.  If that is correct, then their parents were Peter McEwan, who married Mary Jane White in 1902.

There is a birth registration for a son (Alexander) to that couple in 1916 - with a birthdate of  1 April 1916.

Thanks for the update ... our posts crossed. 

Seems a real possibility doesn't it ... siblings marrying siblings (as they often did in those days). 

Maybe it's best to check the NZ Birth microfiche record (which extends beyond 1916), at your library.  Possibly she was born a year or two after 1916 ?

I just done a Death search for her at the BDM website, and it shows her DOB as 6 August 1918, which will be why it's not showing up in the Births yet.
