Marriage in parish register but not civil?
« on: Saturday 01 October 16 16:34 BST (UK) »
Hi there,

I've found a marriage listed in parish records for a John Hannigan and Isabella Doherty in November 1870 (I've attached it here). However I can't find the marriage in the civil records to be able to get the certificate and get the details. I've been able to locate the couples above and below, but not them. Does anyone know why the would not appear?

Cheers, Holly

I have Isabella as a widow in the 1901 census and John's death in 1893. I can't find Isabella in 1911 or her death just yet.

Yes that is her with her son. John died in Castle Lane in 1893. So it's definitely the right couple. I have their sons birth as well confirming her maiden name. I just can't find the civil certificate. Which would give me the fathers names which as I have their ages may help me go back a little.
