I changed from a PC FTM12 to a Mac version with no problems - just updated through their site, it cost £15.

You may be able to contact them through: orders@mackiev.com

Thank you. You may be able to answer my questions though. What I want to do in the near future is to get a Mac. Obviously then buying a Mac version. Whilst I am changing over I would want to run both the PC and Mac. If that is the case do both versions update via Ancestry. If that is the case then I presume both are alike.

Thanks again for your reply

Looking at my receipt I think what I did was buy a Family Pack Upgrade:

"Thank you for ordering a Family Pack Upgrade from Software MacKiev!

Below, we've attached a Family Pack Upgrade License Certificate that entitles you to install an additional two (2) copies of The Family Tree Maker 2014.1 and/or Mac 3.1 in your Household."

That meant I could keep the old programme on the PC while also downloading it to the Macbook. However, to tell you the truth, since getting the Mac I haven't looked at my PC, so I'm not sure if the version there has synced.

May be best to ask them directly.

Good luck with the Mac, I certainly don't regret changing to one.

Thanks Groom will drop them an email. Having used iPhone and now just upgraded my old iPad to iPad Pro no way would stick to PC.
