This is the family headstone in Helensburgh Cemetery where John who was killed in 1917 is named as as his mother Janet who died in 1902. Also named are John's three brothers Walter, William and James, his sister Flora and his father John who all died within the space of eight days in 1919 from 'flu. John's eldest sister Margaret is also named. Only three girls, Margaret,Janet and Jean survived. Such a sad family story.
