Obituary? (1921) John Hammond GALBRAITH.........
« on: Wednesday 05 October 16 23:55 BST (UK) »
Hello,

John Hammond GALBRAITH died suddenly in London on 15.2.1921. He had a law practice in Australia House, The Strand, known as Galbraith & Best.

He lived at "Millbrook" in Chobham, Surrey. His death notice appeared in 'The Times' London, on 16.2.1921.

However I am wondering if there was an obituary published in perhaps a Surrey? newspaper, as J.H.Galbraith was quite well known.

Is that the same 'Millbrook' now the home of an RSPCA animal centre  :-\

You will probably need the Woking News & Mail

Have you thought of contacting the British Library? They provide  20 minutes free search. As you know where and when an obituary may have been published, perhaps you could identify a possible newspaper. This should increase the chances of a successful search in the time available.

They will tell you what entries they have found and offer you the opportunity to purchase, at a modest fee, a copy. I suggest you request it on A3. -  I selected A4 but the print was so small I required a magnifying glass to read it.  Lesson learned.

P S. I see Rosie99 has suggested some titles

Rosie & Brentor Boy, thank you for your replies.

Whether Millbrook the animal centre, is the former home of my ancestor remains to be proven, but one would think it most likely.

As I live in New Zealand there may perhaps be a problem currency-wise, in paying for any information found? However I can enquire and I thank you both for your suggestions.
