This is a baptism of twins named Marie Sophie and Marguerite born 28 June 1816 and baptized 29 June 1816. Parents appear to be Jean Baptiste Chayer and Marie Anne Malouin (?) dite Rinfret. There is a marriage the previous year between a Jean Baptiste Chaille and Marie Ann Rinfret dite Malouin in the same church, Notre Dame Quebec City.

Hi PB,

I think Sophie & Marguerite aren't mine, the parents don't add up, and thank you so much for your time on translating the parents names.

Mind you my Sophie was born in that time frame.

Regards

Is it your Sophie who married Joseph St Georges in 1831 and then Jerome Demers in 1846 after she was widowed? If so, she was a minor (under 21) at her first marriage which would put her birth about 1810 or later. Don't see anything at the moment but will keep looking. She should be there somewhere.

Well, she certainly is well buried in the records.

A possibility for a sister?

Angelique Chaille
Baptized 04 Aug 1811, born 5 days previously.
F. Louis Chaille Farmer
M. Marguerite Macfarlon (hard to read)
St Anne des Plaines Co. Terrebonne (just north of Montreal)

PB

Added: and brother Benjamin?
Baptized 11 Feb 1810, born the day before
F. Louis Chaille
M. now Marie-anne McFarlan
Same place

PB,

Your right there a sister Angelique, i found her death/burial, she is mistranscribed as Genevieve Chayer d. 15 May 1814, bur. 17 May 1814 Ste-Madeleine-de-Rigaud. 3yrs old.

PB i'm wondering if Sophie baptism record maybe mistranscribed to some other name.  ???

Ooh Benjamin i haven't got him, thankyou for finding him.
