John Fadian/Padian
« on: Sunday 09 October 16 20:22 BST (UK) »
I am looking for my Grt Grt Grand Father, John Fadian who according to the Family story died in 1881 on the day my Grt Grand Mother was born.
It is thought he was on his way back from market & got caught in a snow storm.  He was found some time later in a ditch.
I cannot find any records in his name but have come across John Padian, died 1881, age 31 in Strokestown.  This could well be him!
Is anyone able to look at the record for me.....please, and if this is him advise how I can get a copy of the certificate.
Returns year 1881.....Returns quarter 1.....Vol 3.....Page 298
Thank-you in advance

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Is this Bridget's mother in 1901 - Mary McFadian?

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Mayo/New_Port_East/Skerdagh_Lower/1605906/

If it is the same house, it us occupied by a Keane family - perhaps a Caine relative - in 1911.

If that is Mary, do you have a death for her? Is there a family grave locally?

Wonder is this the great grandmother's birth - LINK
DoB Jan 7th 1881 but it could be that the body was not found for a while
Mother's maiden name is CAIN
First name Mary ties with census return

No problem heywood - looks like the correct child - dates very close

No cause of death is unusual especially if John died in a blizzard
Also if William PADIAN states he was present at death?

I don't think that the death of John Padian refers to John Fadian who is being sought.
