I've sent Colin a pm with a probable address for the person he is looking for.

Hi
There is a marriage in Barnet in 1944 between a LAMB (male) and a PEWTRESS (female) which could be the parents of the children on FreeBMD. Wrong forenames for Eric & Annie though.

We shall she what a new letter to his daughter elicits from her, she is at the same address acording to someone who has pm'd me

You have the death date as 5/5/1994 - is this correct? - was the death actually in April 1994?

Well time has flown and still not luck, despite sending letters to two different addresses for who we think is our long lost cousin no response at all despite putting a sae in with the letter.

I know for you that is a sad situation that still leaves you with an unresolved mystery.

Unfortunately there are many chatters here who have experienced the same thing, it happens over and over, and even professionally when potential beneficiaries refuse to acknowledge correspondence which alludes to a possible inheritance.

There are also topics on RC about other family members and their lack of interest in our hobby.

All you can do is acknowledge that at a specific period in time, he was a happily married man with a wife and child but frustratingly a huge gap remains.

I suppose you should take some comfort that he attended your father's funeral. There must have been either direct or indirect contact for him to be aware of your father's passing.

Maybe one day your cousin will follow up on your written approach.

Many thanks for the pm, the person and address is the one I have written to a couple of times and even put my return address on the back of the envelope and an sae inside with a letter.

So far no response.
