Sancti, was there an occupation for Margaret's father, John Reilly, on that 1923 marriage entry?

On the Murphy side, headed up by Edward and Catherine, I think Catherine's maiden name is Seery, see www.myheritage.com/names/catherine_seery (I do not have access to the detail there).

Catherine Murphy (born Seery), 1872 - 1923
Catherine Murphy (born Seery) was born on month day 1872, at birth place, to Daniel Seery and Mary Seery (born Murray).
Daniel was born in 1851, in Labourer.
Catherine had 5 siblings: Patrick Seery, Anne Seery and 3 other siblings.
Catherine married Edward Murphy.
Edward was born on March 25 1869, in Compositor.
They had 5 children: Kathleen Alford (born Murphy), Christina Murphy and 3 other children.
Catherine passed away on month day 1923, at age 51 at death place.
She was buried at burial place.

You need a subs to view the detail put in by somebody connected.

Parish marriage for this Edward Murphy and Catherine Neery here https://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/2e5de50059573

Daughter Katheen's baptism here https://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/aeb20d0133849

The marriage of John Reilly and Margaret Lambert, and children's baptisms also show at the same church.

I think Margaret Reilly/Nolan/Gaffney died at the age of 83 in 1968 in Glasgow. The same ref 644/6 660 shows when you search by each surname (in this daft hit and miss way we are now forced to search on SP  >:(). This death would need to be checked in person, too recent to view online. Would like to know what was the name of her first husband xxx Nolan in case it helps further.

This was her christening entry as Mary Margaret https://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/e0bf540204589 Her death is registered as Margaret Mary (across all surnames).

Trying to figure out now where we go with all this info to make stronger connections back to Bridget, mother of Peter  :-\

Monica you have carried out a lot of great work on this brick wall.

Margaret Nolan or Reilly married Patrick Gaffney on 11 September 1923 in St Francis RC Church.

Her parents were John Reilly (Telephone Linesman, deceased) and Margaret Lambert (Deceased)

Witnesses were Agnes Reilly, 372 Mathieson Street and William Higgins 24 Kinning Street

Hey, that is great. She is certainly the Margaret back in Dublin. Sister Agnes maybe as witness. Father John's occupation from the Irish censuses certainly matches the details on her remarriage in 1923.

Thanks Sancti  :)

Couldn't find a suitable marriage for a Bridget Murphy in the area up to 1930.

I couldn't either. There are also no likely early deaths in that period really. This is what made me wonder whether she may have returned to Ireland. I did see a Dublin marriage between a Brigid Murphy and an Alfred NOLAN in 1920. This is why I want to see what the name of Margaret Murphy's first husband was, to see if any connections there as I think I can see who this Alfred belongs to in terms of family (with brothers Michael and James) in Dublin. I have very rubbishly gone through some of the Irish records to try to find this marriage, but failed to see anything. Wondering whether the name of first husband might show on her death cert for that reason.

There are no passenger lists from Ireland at that time. All one country then and people were free to move about without paperwork involved.

Just posted this www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=757524.0 on the Dublin board to see whether anyone can help with the Nolan & Reilly marriage details.
