Gresford Elizabeth Annie Jarvis 1891
« on: Wednesday 12 October 16 11:17 BST (UK) »
I am looking for Elizabeth Annie Jarvis. Baptised 12 July 1891 in Gresford, Denbighshire. She appears with her cousin Mary Annie Jones (nee Jarvis) & Fred Jones on 1911 census in Tenby. I am looking for Elizabeths birth, parents & her 1901 census location please so I can work out the 'cousin' connection to Mary Annie. Anyone have any ideas please?

Her baptism details should show her parents and the occupation of her father; sometimes it will also show the date of birth of the infant.

The only Elizabeth Annie I can find with a Frederick and Mary Annie Jones in Tenby is surnamed Taylor;  is this your Elizabeth?   ???

FreeBMD has this birth registration:

Elizabeth Annie Taylor   JunQ  1891   Wrexham  11b  266         Gresford is in the Wrexham registration district.

After much searching I have finally found her in the 1911 census, but it shows her name as TAYLOR not Jarvis.

In 1901 census there is a family of James and Ann TAYLOR, with various family members all born in Gresford, including a grandson John JARVIS 25 and a Lilly JONES 13, adopted.

Since Lilly is often used as a diminutive of Elizabeth, I think it would warrant looking into this family.

Hi

Mary Ann Jarvis baptised 10.8.1873 is the daughter of Evan and Elizabeth Jarvis nee Guest.Married 11/5/1870 Chester.Elizabeth was born 1852 at Gresford and is with   Elizabeth Annie's grandparents James and Ann Taylor as a niece on the 1861 census.

It looks like Thomas Taylor's mother was a Anne Guest born 1824 Gresford and married James Taylor 23.9.1860 at St Mary on the Hill Chester .Father Thomas Guest. Ann already had a daughter Elizabeth Guest baptised Gresford 21.7.1851.

Elizabeth Guest on her marriage in 1870 has a father George but there is only one Elizabeth Guest baptised at Gresford at that time.

What do you think???

Thank you for your help.  Her surname is Taylor - you are right.  I am glad you have shown me her parents name.  It all fits in nicely now

Thank you
