I need a certified copy of the decree absolute for a citizenship application. I don't know what information is required from the document.

Apparently the decree absolute give the names of the petitioner, respondent and if applicable corespondent and the date and place of the marriage.

Like Josey I would have thought the only citizenship issue would be with one of the parties to the original marriage

A relative of mine was married in 1956, and married again in 1963. I tried to get a copy of the decree absolute from the Central Family Court, but was told that the search had failed. I used the names of the relative and his wife from their marriage certificate, and searched from 1956-1966. Does anyone have any suggestions about why the search might have failed? Thanks!
Was this in England and Wales?
