McGinty/McGanty family
« on: Sunday 16 October 16 03:38 BST (UK) »
James McGinty or McGanty was born in Downpatrick circa 1824 and moved with his wife, Jane born circa 1820 Downpatrick, and children to Lancashire some time between 1858 and 1871. Is there any way I can find out more about the family in Ireland and the ship they sailed on to England's? Many thanks.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

There are no shipping records :-\
Ireland was part of the UK at that time, so it was essentially an internal ferry crossing ;D
