It seems a fit but we do know there was another Pope family in the area about the same time.

Others have reported a marriage 5 Dec 1764 - Winkleigh,Devon,England of a John Pope and a Mary Packer but I have not see a Bann or other document.  I do have copies of the Pope Skinner Banns
