Cheatle/Cheetle, Breedon on the Hill or Hugglecote/Donington
« on: Sunday 23 October 16 08:36 BST (UK) »
Looking for ANY Cheetle/Cheatle bapt., marr. or death/burial  especially a George d. 1730+? and his wife Sussana(h) d. 1733+? BUT could also be Hugglescote/Donington.  I am trying to find a connection between a Sussanah Cheatle/Cheetle born to a Sussanah (no father named) bapt H/D 1733 to a Sussanah and George Cheetle/Cheatle whose two (other?) children were Thomas bapt. 27/8/1727 H/D and Sarah bapt. 14/4/1730 H/D which makes Sussanah bapt. 1733 the last born and maybe she was born after George's death without Sussanah re-marrying.   Sussanah's dau. Sussanah marries 1757 Diseworth, by Banns, and register shows her belonging to Breedon parish.   With many thanks once again........

I have access to Breedon / Donington Prs but not Hugglecote. I will take a look next week.

ok been to library.
first I have to say - & the family historian librarian agrees - that it is peculiar that the bmds are marked on the Leics igi as Huggleston & Donington. Huggleston came within the Ashby registration district whilst Donington (on the Leics /Derby border) came under Shardlow. I did check the Donington Prs but do not have access to Huggleston (Coalville library)

however I did find:
Marriage:
George Cheatle = Susannah Boyer 1/8/1726 H&D

Baptisms:
Thomas & Sarah as given before confirmed
Susannah 30/11/1733 as given d/o Susannah no mention of father.

George Cheatle 28/2/1694 H&D s/o Thomas & Sarah

burial:
only George in igi I could see was 1791 (no date) Castle Donington & couldn't see this on the CD Pr's.

Thomas Cheatle & Sarah were possibly married 1693 H&D  date on IGI in brackets. but did see baptism of 2
Thomas's 16/2/1701 & 1/12/1704 to a Thomas & Sarah. Also burial of a Sarah 1648 d/o Thomas William Cheatle & Sarah Turner.

There seem to be a lot of Cheatles in the area so I don't think you can assume that Susannah 1733 belongs to George & Susannah.

Elizabeth Cheatle burial 4 August 1730 spouse Thomas Cheatle
Susanna Cheatle c 30 November 1733 mother Susanna Cheatle.

Well from Parish Register it could be that Susanna was illegitimate, as the George that was buried in 1730 may well have been a infant (But no ages given in PR) also his mother Elizabeth buried on same day.
