Hello,
I would like to know what I could expect on a marriage certificate for 1850 Donaghadee, co down?

Also a death certificate for 1881 Killyleagh co down.

I am trying to find and prove parent/s; a birth date/age approximation, and if there was a previous marriage.
Thank you. K

Marriages contain the date, parties names, ages (usually full or minor, but occasionally actual ages) previous marital status, occupation, residence at the time of the marriage, fathers name and occupation. Also the location of the ceremony and the denomination; the name of the person conducting the ceremony and 2 witnesses signatures.

A death has the date and location; name; sex; marital status; age; occupation; cause of death and whether certified by a doctor; name and address of the informant; date of registration.

So you should get some of the information you are after. No mothers names on Irish (or English) marriage certificates.

You can view the original certificates on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk

You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.

Thank you so much for your quick reply.
Do you mean I can view original on line for £2.50?
I was going to order these certificates was going to cost £15....each.
I live in Australia so online would be fantastic for me and best of all quick.
Thanks again K

Yes you have a choice. You can view it immediately on-line for £2.50 or you can order  a paper copy by post for £15. For most research purposes, viewing it on-line will probably suffice. Use the search marriage/death registrations option, not the order a cert one.
