Lodging House, Beith.
« on: Tuesday 25 October 16 12:48 BST (UK) »
Hi, one of my forebears spent some time in 1912 in "Lodging house, Beith." Does anyone know if there were any lodging houses in Beith for the poor at the time and if so where it may have stood? Thanking you for any assistance.

Hi ,

Not sure if it's relevant , but the 1915 Valuation Rolls has Mrs Jane Stewart or MacKay  (Widow , Proprietor) Lodging House , 16 New Street , Beith.

Looks like it's also on the 1895 and 1905 Valuation Rolls.

There may have been other lodging houses but this is the only one showing with "Lodging House" in the address.

Hi EV. It may well be the place given its the only listed lodging house in a small town. Thanks very much for this. Much appreciated.

Hi again Ev, you wouldn't happen to know if there was a lodging house or other place for the poor in Kilmarnock known as Molloy's or Malloy's in Fore Street around the same time? Thanks again.
