Northumberland Fusiliers : John Piper
« on: Saturday 29 October 16 19:47 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have found the Medal Records card for my Great Grandfather John Adam Piper, however I cant find any further information than that. (At least with my skills on ancestry.co.uk). Can anyone suggest anywhere else I can look?

Name : John Adam Piper
Corps : Northumberland Fusiliers
Rank : Pte
Regtl No : 316471

Medal is the Victory medal with some numbers/letters?  I've attached, there's some codes down the side N/T  ? (any idea what that means) and a date in 1979
Also theres something in the remarks and I'd love to know what that means too.

the remark   class z   refers to -  Class Z Reserve was authorised by an Army Order of 3 December 1918. ... They all mean that the man was eventually discharged to Class Z Army Reserve.

for help in interpreting a medal card  see- http://www.1914-1918.net/soldiers/interpretmic.html

I'm given to understand that the dates down the side means there was an enquiry regarding the medals on those dates. There is no paperwork surving that would assist with who/what.
