Thank you & yes My Luck I am researching my Ancestors & welcome any & all info .I have looked at numerous family trees & I am finding a lot Kennedys ,Waides ,Alexanders   From Antrim Ireland . And cant find a connection . My Mom was given to a woman in Dansville N.Y. by her biological Mother at 3 days old & raised by her . We have not found any adoption records ,on her .So I assume ,she wasnt adopted legeally .By a Flossie Reed of Dansville N.Y. Esserine was Flossies Maiden name & cant find a connection between her & my biological Grandmother ,Ruth Nown Toal of Batavia N.Y. This is & has been a very emotional journey into the unknown territory of my Mothers biological family. My Mom passed away 3 years ago with no answers ,of who she was ,or where she came from .I am doing this for her & my sisters . We & my Mom grew up with very little family, most passed away when we were little. My Dads Family all lived in New England States & saw them very little .

In many countries adoption wasn't formalised until relatively recently

If a family had no children they could suddenly appear with one and even register the birth astheir own child which makes research extremely difficult but could also explain no link between the birth mother and the adoptive mother.  Sometimes doctors and/or nurses were involved and ensured that the adoptive family had no ties to the biological mother.

If you have made a DNA connection to a family tree - have you contacted that family?
They may know what happened if it was discussed and passed down

There is the possibility that anyone Ireland based was not informed as they might never "find out"

I wish you luck with your search and hope that you find a connection that gives you closure - remember that if you find recent information that Rootschat does not allow reference to the living  :)
