Go to the <a href="http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrsonlinecatalogue/search.aspx">search page</a> of the National Records of Scotland and enter Mitchell Patison in the search box and you will get 11 records relating to him in one way or the other and then enter his name using the spelling Mitchell Pattison and you will get one further record ...

Thank-you everyone for posting, I'm very intrigued by these files, and the references to his inefficiencies, difficulties and troubles mentioned in some other posts here, it appears I have a lot more research to undertake so I am able to understand what happened.
