Marriage Bonds and Fiats of Wales Records
« on: Sunday 30 October 16 13:23 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Can anyone help. I am sure at one stage you could search for Marriage Bonds and Fiats of Wales at www.llgc.org.uk , but I can't seen to find any appropriate option/link there. Does anyone know of the correct link to go to?

I have, from other sources, info about a marriage I want to find more about, or even maybe get a copy of the bond/fiat to see if it has more detail. This is

164 Marriage Bonds and Fiats, 1784. Oct. 4. David Lodowick of the parish of Llanarthney, Carms., farmer, and Martha Stephen of the parish of Puncheston, Perns., spinster.^ B. by said David Lodowick and Thomas Stephens of the parish of Llanegwad, Carm.

or alternatively:

LODOWICK, David, farmer, Llanarthne, CMN. 1784, October 4. Martha Stephen. B.,O. 18/64)

Thank you

That's excellent thanks. Unfortunately full text not on line, but at least I now have a reference I can use to discuss further with NLW.

familysearch.org has a lot of images of Welsh marriage bonds. The volume of St Davids bonds for 1784-87 seems to there. Not indexed but, with a bit of patience, you may be able to find your way to the right one.

Fantastic source of information that I had no idea was there! Have found it in St Davids 1784-1787 vol 18 page 134-137

Thank you very much

Glad that you have found it,I have a copy from the library if you want it.
The only way to find marriage bonda on the NLW cataloge is by entering the name of the bride or the groom. Sometimes reversing the names will work.
