If you knew my family, particularly the O'Rorkes, they were and are still are very insistent about the spelling of their name, I think most people are. I think the reason that the O'Rorke's were so fussy on this though, was because they wanted to define themselves as being from a particular branch of the Rourke line, as you know, there are so many variations of that name, as there are with many others. Rork, Rorke, O'Rorke, Rark, Ui Ruairc, O'Ruairc, O'Rourke, Rourke, Roarke and so on, all of which sound the same, but are all distinctly different families. After all, if my name was Smith, I would insist on not being called Smyth, Smythe or Schmidt would I? Nor you or anyone else.
That is why I said what I said, and thank you for taking a look sir, and for your concern :)

The ironic thing about it was that he wasn't actually from Carlow, maybe he just didn't know, he was from Waterford, so thinking of Port Lairge, I see that on the form, though someone pointed it out to me, then I realised how simple it was.
