Welcome to RootsChat

At the bottom of each RootsChat page is a section called "Your Tools" and a section called "Surname Interests" - why don't you add your name/names to that section and then anyone who comes along later will find it.

When asking for assistance it helps if you tell us what you know and explain exactly what sort of information you are looking for.

If you click on 'report to moderator' this thread will be moved to the Cork board where it belongs.

There are lots of online Irish records (free) that you can check yourself for more details. Here are just a few which cover Cork-
Cork Resources and Offers board here on Rootschat
Census records- 1901 & 1911 as well as other fragments of earlier ones
Civil records- births, marriages, deaths
Church records- see here for Cork R.c. records
Irish Catholic Parish Registers
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

The only Yank or Yanks I could find were from Germany.
Yanke
There is a Mary in the USA her husband is Nick and he was from Greece.
She was born in Ireland and her maiden name was Lane.
The 3 spellings of Yank Yanke and Yanks are not in the roostireland site, the Tithe records or Griffiths Valuation.
In familysearch they have some but in the mid 1800's and the 1900's
There was a Joseph Yank in Ancestry when I looked at the original Doc. it was Gank.
Another John Yank was John Black.
I would need more info as to where they went to.
