Hope Parish Marriages 1773
« on: Thursday 10 November 16 16:32 GMT (UK) »
Trying to locate a copy of an original parish entry of a marriage in Hope, Derbyshire 1773 where I can pay online thru debit/credit card.  So far Derbyshire archives do not take this form of payment online - I have to call in the payment and I live in the States.  There are no copies on ancestry or findmypast or familysearch (of the original, only indexed or brief transcripts).  I do have an email into the local family history group there where I am hoping it can be done online.  Thx

Just a thought - Family Search say they have the parish registers for Hope 1598-1969 and the Bishop's Transcripts 1661-1857.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Website says that you can browse the images on-line.  You just have to register and sign in!

Just took a look.  How do you access the images online?  I am registered, not an LDS member, is that the difference?

No, I'm not a member.  I found that when I had signed in, I could click on the camera image for the register and it appeared!

Searched under the Catalog, then typed in Hope, then chose Parish registers.  Under film notes chose bmb 1598-1765 and chose the camera icon.

Sorry, can't add the image of the screen - not possible on look-up threads.

Okay, found it (with great difficulty I might add...not an easy site to navigate image-wise), but of course they didn't have the village of Hope...figures, lol.  But worth knowing and thank you so much.  Just hope I can find the images part of familysearch again.  There were a couple of other villages that I have people in, so not wasted info.  Appreciate your help!
