Robert Gilligan: Missing from New Zealand

Robert Gilligan was born in New Zealand 25/1/1888 to Thomas and Mary Gilligan. There is no death or marriage record for him here. He is not in the family plot in Dunedin. I am assuming he emmigrated, but where?

OPPS I had looked in our Papers Past before but thought I had better go back and do another search. They are adding all the time and have done a heap from the 1920's. He became a priest and hence his name had changed.
