Reverend John Levingston.
« on: Sunday 13 November 16 19:18 GMT (UK) »
Has anyone come across anything on the Reverend John Levingstone. While he was born Carlow 1856 from what I can find he lived and ministered most of his life in Cork. He may of started his Ministry at Templemartin , Bandon, moving on to Christ Church , Drinagh where he was involved in the building of the new Church circa 1900. Shortly after the new Church was built he moved on to Carrigtwohill.

Any help much appreciated here.
John.

Edward Carr Carroll (Brady,III., 162) P.C. of Templemartin became R. Kanturk, Cloyne, on 1st October, 1879, whereupon the parish of Templemartin was joined to Murragh. Upon this, John Harding Cole, B.A. was appointed curate of the union, residing at Templemartin Glebe, in 1879. He resigned in 1880, and was succeeded by Geo. Hamilton, who resigned in 1884, and was succeeded by J.Knox, who died in 1885, and was succeeded by J. Levingston, B.A., who, in 1892, became R. Drinagh, and was succeeded by Fredrick Girling, B.A., who became R. Drinagh, in November, 1902, and he was succeeded by R.Harbord, M.A. the present Curate.

Ship records from the 1920s show Colville FLEWETT travelled to India

On her first trip she was accompanied by two children.
In 1928 she was not accompanied by her husband but had her three children aged 5, 3 and 1 with her

The child aged one has a birth record in Cork in 1927 and shown to travel again in the 1950s to India; she is shown as a missionary and as a medical prac.

In 1954 Colville FLEWETT travelled to India giving a home address in Belfast

editted to add

in 1959 Mr WE and Mrs CL FLEWETT travelled to Mombasa
They gave a home address of Rose Cottage, Portnoo, Co. Donegal
Dob for CL is the same as Colville Leamouth LEVINGSTON

Colville Learmouth FLEWETT died 1986 in North Shropshire, Shropshire
William Edward FLEWETT died 1991 in the same district

Phoebe LEVINGSTON, with the same DoB as given above, died in North Shopshire, Shopshire in 1974
Phoebe travelled with Colville and her children in 1931

Jessie LEVINGSTON, with the same DoB as given above, died in North Shopshire, Shopshire in 1984

The family obviously relocated to the UK
There is a private family tree on ancestry which implies children of one couple are researching
