John Frederick Smith

Between 1926 and 1949 John Frederick Smith lived in Impington with his wife Hilda M Smith. At the library today I found them in 1939 living New Road Impington. John's birth was recorded as 13th April 1893. Hilda's as 25th April 1901.  In 1921 John F. Smith married Hilda M Ranns (Mildenhall). 1911 gives Hilda Mary Ranns as living Icklingham, near Mildenhall. John died 20th May 1950.

Can anyone see John's parents?

Does the marriage certificate not show the parents ? What was John's occupation ?

Someone with an anc tree has put this 1901 census against Johns name   

1901 Golden Lane Sudbury Suffolk England.

Frederick Smith   35 Born Lawshall. Horse keeper On Farm
Florence Smith   33 Born Sudbourne.
John Smith   7 Born Lawshall.
Rose Smith   5 Born Lawshall.
Frank Smith   2 Born Lawshall.

Sandra  Thanks for looking. I'm researching the people who have lived in my street, only 31 houses but lots of people have lived here since the first houses were built in 1892. Birth and Marriage Certs would be nice for them all but not practical. However, I think your find in Lawshaw is a strong possibility. Lawshaw is only 18 miles from Icklingfield.... with Bury St Edmund about mid distance. His occupation in the burial details was Blacksmith (not unusual, I guess for someone called Smith) and also in 1939. His Dad being into horses.... well maybe!!!
