Hello hasta , you may well be right his first wife's name was Sarah we have no clue who 2nd was !! He was in the army and funny enough there is a gap in years in children in Wales between 1939 and 1945 I just assumed that was because of the war

I'm guessing it must be the same man.
If he was married to Sarah (Rees) then that marriage in Neath was 1929 - the newspaper doesn't give her name but says he was married in Wales in 1921 (which seems to be a mistake) and had 4 children by 1942 (living in Port Talbot)
He met his second wife while stationed at Forres and it's unclear if they ever lived to gather but says that while she got no' marriage allowance' from him he did give her 'sums of money' and that he had only married her to 'please her people' I don't know if that is a euphemism for a pregnancy ?
Another little article correctly gives the marriage date as May 1941 at
Mannofield Church (is on Scotlands People as BRYN LEYSHON wife maiden name KIRHOOLIE )
Lastly it says he was discharged from the arm  'this year' i.e 1942 and had returned to his wife in Wales - so sounds like he had already returned home and was later arrested ?

If the birth was after the marriage it will only show up in father's surname.

Annie

Added...Pot luck as there's no Index giving mms
