I cannot find a marriage certificate for Eliza and AGP.  Though I have a record of his first marriage.

Was his first wife the Jane Pooley whose death (aged "28"*) was registered in Kingston, Mar qtr 1846?

*I see that Jane was recorded as aged 27 in the 1841 census.

I had suspected AGP travelled abroad, but have not been able to confirm where or when. Believe there's a record of him making a passport application in 1861.
Any idea why Jane Wadbrook Pooley would be baptised at the age of 18?  I have a date for her marriage which was at St George Parish Church, Bloomsbury, Middlesex England in 1877 to Edward Spencer Stidolph, of Langdale House, Greenwich. Thank you for your interest Avm228.
Now James Wigfield has also caused me concern.  He is the only military person amongst the ancestors who could have been awarded a sword, with the initials of William IV. The sword is currently in Brazil, with my cousin.  That's another story.  I have a copy of his will, and he leaves everything to his niece, Charlotte Jackson, widow of William Jackson.... another unsolved mystery.
In the 1851 census Eliza says she's from Northallerton, Yorks.  In 1861 she changes it to Berkshire. In 1871 she's from Datchet, Berks. She died in 1879, in Cambridge.  Any ideas?

From GRO the mother's maiden name on the births of Jane Wadbrook Pooley and William Alexander Pooley was Wadbrook. There is also a birth for a Thomas Alexander Pooley in 1841 in Kingston with the same mmn. Jane Wadbrook married Alexander Gopsill Pooley in 1837 in parish of St Luke.

Thank you Isobel.  It seems that AGP's first marriage and birth registrations were orderly, however not so with his second marriage (not sure they were married as no certificate).  Eliza, the 2nd wife, seemed unsure of where she was born.

Looking at the siblings - Jane Wadbrook Pooley's birth was registered in Marylebone, Mar qtr 1843.

She was baptised at the British Chaplaincy, Bonn on 13 Aug 1861 - birthdate given as 3 March 1843.  Parents were Alexander Gossell Pooley and Jane, so presumably Eliza (much younger than Alexander) came on the scene at some point after her birth.

Please can you advise where I may obtain a copy of this baptism information?  I'm unsure where to find it.  Thank you.

It's extracted on Familysearch: https://familysearch.org/search

Type in her name and select Germany as the country.

If you search for this article on the internet it will tell you a lot about Alexander Pooley and his father Thomas. They had quite a checkered career!

"Advent of Suburbia - Thomas Pooley, The Railway and Surbiton" by David A Kennedy PhD dated 29th June 2016

It may give you some insight into the family.
