Mountmellick Civil / Parish Registers 1917
« on: Thursday 17 November 16 17:09 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
Whilst I know that NLI have the records for late 1800s is it possible to see records for around 1917-1923 as trying to search info on my grandfather.  I didnt get very far with irishgenealogy.ie either unfortunately.

Thanks,
Mike.

Most places go by the 100 year data limit.
FamilySearch has civil index up to 1958 though. https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list/?page=1&countryId=1927084
If you can find him there a research cert can be ordered for 4 using the form on IrishGenealogy

Than hopefully you will be able to use the free stuff pre 1916.

Thank you for that Sinnan. I thought that might have been the case. I think I have the right index ref but was hoping I could make sure without having to purchase a cert.

Assuming it's a birth, unless there are known siblings before 1916 I can't think of anything, it sort of depends on what you already know as to how much circumstantial evidence you could put together, it would be easier to just get the cert.
