Alice Jerman, c1865
« on: Saturday 19 November 16 11:24 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone find any trace of Alice Jerman, b 1865. Llechylched post 1881 when she was a Servant in Llechylched?

Sight "difficulty" is that the Surname has also been recorded as German, Garman and Jarman  :P

Have you checked freebmd for a marriage for her?

If you use FS to look for a marriage or an 1891 entry - they automatically do a soundex search

https://familysearch.org/search

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1865747?collectionNameFilter=false

Alternatively - you can just check the 1891 for an Alice b 1865 +- 1yr and use her birthplace which may show a married name.  You can then use that surname to see if it matches a marriage

Have you already ruled out the 1885 marriage of Alice Jarman in Monmouthshire

The 1891 entry above could be the 1888 Holyhead marriage - Alice Owens

I came across the Thomas Edward marriage and "found" Alice Owens. Having difficulty locating her (to check) in 1881 and 1871. Only Alice that pops-up is Alice Jerman!

Check freebmd births - her birth was registered as Jarman - not Jerman and the 1871 entry shows her as Jarman

Yes Carole, the name is a bit confusing.

I plumped for Jerman which is the name on the WedCert of a Mary Jerman (1868), which is more or less my direct line.

Mary's brother John's daughter was registered as German in 1899!
