I'm afraid not. Agnes Ross, who married Robert, was my 3x great aunt so not exactly a close connection! I followed the Curries because the Ross family were also from Eaglesham & there might have been other connections. I've not found any so far & most of them moved to Glasgow. However, I must follow up the Stirling Observer article, Robert & Agnes might have been there.

Good hunting, Blanche

Thanks.

There is an obelisk in Eaglesham churchyard erected around about the same time as the family reunion. Apparently someone had a ticket inviting them... it is now sadly lost.

John Currie was proprietor of Swan Inn which is still there. Katherine his daughter died in 1874 or 76.

Blanched,
The article in the Stirling Observer had no connection to Stirling.
It was simply copied from the Glasgow Mail and entered into this newspaper.

My Currie / Watson pair left Eaglesham and moved in to Glasgow, mostly East end until they died. I think John Watson worked in a cotton mill.

I imagine Katherine kept in touch with her siblings located nearby.

Regarding John Currie and Elizabeth Fulton. I think Robert Currie and Jean Hamilton are his parents.

Anyone have an idea of who Elizabeth's parents are?

Not sure about parents for this Elizabeth ...but death certificate for the Elizabeth Fulton married to Robert Currie has her mother as Susana Clark father Andrew Fulton
