I expect you have this from Billion Graves ?

It doesn't seem to link up with the records I found - unless this was another life ?

This could be him arriving in NZ in 1962 :

That's interesting as I also found him on the same voyage arriving in San Francisco in Jan 1962 from Vancouver ( travelling alone ).

Thank you for the excellent information you have provided.

Yes, it is his 'other life' in Canada, pre NZ and Australia, that I am interested in.

Interesting guy, where was he born?  The trip to England in 1947 and return to Canada in 1950 with a wife I (who might still be alive at 87) and a son K born England abt 1948 suggests he may have known I from a previous time in England and went back to marry her?
1958 Canada Voters List has Edward airman and I living on Royal Canadian Airforce Base Trenton Ontario.
1962 has Mrs I living alone with no other adults in Trenton off the airbase
1963 has I (no Mrs) at same address in Trenton
1965 has I secretary living in Edmonton Alberta
1968 has I at same address in Edmonton
1974 has K radar technician in Edmonton, there is a female R Prime at same address, wife or sister?
No sign of I after 1968, did she remarry, return to England, move to the US or die?

Arrival & marriage dates too close together to assume that he did not know I from an earlier time in England.  He was just old enough to serve with the RCAF in England during the war where he met I who was only about 16 years old when the war ended in 1945.  Arrival and departures to and from England during the war by troopship or air might be hard to find.

Thank you for the information.

He had said that he was born in Canada.

I don't think it is unusual to marry after knowing someone for only a short time, even today.

He certainly hooked up with a lady in NZ very soon after arrival.

I too wondered if his English wife would have remarried.

Found obit for Irene here

http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/edmontonjournal/obituary.aspx?n=irene-anderson&pid=169909898&fhid=12295

Found obit for son Steven Prime on this site, which gave her remarried surname Anderson.
