I do note the birth place of the man surnamed BROWN directly beneath Charles on the index is Sweden. One wonders about a transcriber's error ::) Just a thought.

What indexes are you looking at? I'd be interested for my own research for the future

Thanks for all your help as well regarding the earlier marriages

Nathan

Well, I'm still not certain about it as there is not an apparent marriage to be seen,(BROWN/WALKER) but I find it difficult to imagine the name WALKER  being mistranscribed as MANAGAN.

There seem to be no children from a marriage of Charles BROWN to Mary MANGAN
Soo.... ???

This is the death of Charles-

BROWN  Charles Frederick
Father Frederick
Mother Maria Katrina ROSS
Age 56
Death Place WEST MELB
Year 1888
Reg  6906

I would be purchasing and downloading this certificate.
If known to the informant, details will include places of birth of the couple as well as marriages.

I assume you know how to go about this as you have the certificate of the marriage of Charles to MULLANEY

Which bits of script exactly can you not read in the image from your first posting?

I have not heard of Ruskin Church, but it looks a little like that.

The minister officiating was Edward Shelton GOODHART, assistant minister of Christ Church.

Mary MULLANEY's occ was housekeeper.  Charles BROWN Hotel keeper.

An 1856 report concerning Charles Brown, a Swede, robbed of a watch at Snobb's Gully? never heard of it
