Joseph Morris? Eastbourne
« on: Wednesday 23 November 16 10:36 GMT (UK) »
The above married Sarah Winton Morris Q3 1901 Eastbourne, she was 49 and a spinster, she passed 15 Sep 1907 but left her property to her nephew, Charles Edwin Beeny, and a solicitor's clerk as well as to Joseph Hyde a confectioner; none to her husband.
I wonder did he die or did they have a prenuptial agreement regarding her money?
There is a Joseph Morris at 1911 in Eastbourne having only been married 2 years aged 58 so he could be a candidate as the widower of Sarah.
What do you think?

Have you actually seen the will?
Or are you referring to the National Probate Calendar?
In which case, the persons named will be executors, and not beneficiaries?

Joseph Morris was still alive in 1907, because Sarah is described as the wife of Joseph, on the National Probate Calendar.
Id he had died, she would be described as the relict of Joseph ;D

No I've not seen the Will but sometimes the executors can be beneficiaries according to the National Archives?

The National Probate Calendar will simply show to whom probate was granted.
No inference can be made as to who were beneficiaries.

Often, none of the executors are beneficiaries.

Of course that is possible. Anything is possible as to who the beneficiaries are  .... she may have left everything to the Cat's home.
That's why you need to see the Will to find out who the beneficiaries are!!!
