Hi,

I have this information from The Keep website.  Henry is my great great grandfather.  Is there any way of getting a copy of the obit short of a trip to The Keep to see the microfilm?  Anything on line?  I'm in the US.

•  Title: WILLIAMS, Henry
•  Date: 5 Aug 1905
•  Repository: East Sussex Record Office
•  ESRO reference: OBIT/1/69/352
•  Level: Item
•  Description: Age: 99
Place: Robertsbridge
Reports in the Sussex Express: death 5.8.1905 p.6

Thanks,

Jann

Hello
Here's a transcription (also on a online pay to view site)
Almost a centenarian-on Friday ,Mr Henry Williams ,who had he lived  to October 14th would have attained his hundredth year ,passed peacefully away at the residence of his grandson. The deceased gentleman was born in the parish of Etchingham in 1805 ;became an inhabitant of Salehurst while still quite young and was in the employment of the Rev G Curtis Luxford and his father for no less than 60 years.Until recently the old gentleman was hale and hearty;he retained the procession of his faculties to the last, and was often to be seen walking briskly with only the assistance of a stick.

Hope that helps

Ciderdrinker,

Thank you so much!  You've made my day.

"Hale, hearty and in possession of his faculties".  Can't ask for more at that age. I knew of a connection to the Luxford family. Now that I know how extensive it was I'll do more research on them.

Best,  Jann
