Jane Grogan - Armagh
« on: Saturday 26 November 16 22:44 GMT (UK) »
I've been searching for Jane Grogan said to have been born abt 1822 in Armagh but unable to find her.  She married Thomas Barron 1845 in Manchester and died in 1896 in Stockton on Tees.  Anyone able to help?

I would say this is that family in the 1851 census Civil Parish Stockton on Tees name transcribed as Barrow
Thomas Barron age 28 born Sedgefield Durham occupation shoemaker
Jane Barron age 28 born Armagh Ireland
Elizabeth 5,    Thomas 3, Mary Jane 1
Mary Glowgan age 73 born Armagh widow I would think this would be Jane's mother

Rosie, many thanks, yes these are certainly my family, Jane's name has had several variations over the years, but this looks good and worthy of me spending more time searching. I have Ancestry so I'll take yet another look.

Thanks once again.  If you can add anything further I'd welcome it.

Regards
Lancelot
