Elizabeth Wiggett
« on: Monday 28 November 16 21:00 GMT (UK) »
Hi can anyone help me find the parents of Elizabeth WIGGETT born circa 1791 in Cutsdean according to 1851 and 1861 censuses.
In 1851 (Cutsdean) she is with her husband William TURNER and grandson George* CLAPTON (16) also born Cutsdean
In 1861 (Bredon) she is a boarder in the household of Hannah WIGGETT and her children including a Martha.
Elizabeth TURNER died in Nov 1861 (Cutsdean) and the witness is Martha WIGGETT.
In 1851 (Cutsdean) Martha is with mother Hannah and father Edward B WIGGETT (50) born Ford.
There is a marriage of an Edward WIGGETT and Hannah CLAPTON in Bredon in 1821

So I'm stuck with her exact relationship with Edward WIGGETT and to the CLAPTONs,  and would like to find out who her parents were.

Hi in 1851 I see a George Clapton aged 16 with William & Elizabeth, not a Richard?

In 1861 George is married to an Amy
have you followed George to see if he holds any clues?

Have you already many years ago requested assistance re the Turners?

Thank you Keyboard86, yes it should say George, not Richard!

No I haven't followed George, but that might be a good plan. I wouldn't go too far with him as he is not a direct line, and I'm not sure if that would get me any details about Elizabeth, although it might explain why he is a grandchild and the relationship of the Claptons

Thanks again Keyboard86

I suppose I should try and get George CLAPTON's death cert in the hope it names his parents and therefore why he is a grandchild of William TURNER and Elizabeth WIGGETT. And if there is a connection to Hannah CLAPTON.

I think the parish records for Cutsdean - Elizabeth and George's place of birth are limited.

 8) Why not his marriage certificate, at least it would name his father and also possible witnesses?

Why would a UK Death certificate name his parents?

Forgive me, I'm a bit rusty with English records. You have kindly told me George CLAPTON is married to Amy, so I should look for that marriage? However I'm wary of buying a cert of a person not in my direct line, for his parents also not in my direct line and those names might not show me a link to Elizabeth's WIGGETT line. Elizabeth and William TURNER had three daughters Alice (my direct line) 1810, Mary 1812 and Charlotte 1820, so I presume one of the other girls married a CLAPTON and had George, I might discover the link to Hannah from there, but it doesn't help with Elizabeth's parents.
