Royal Irish Constabulary Service Records 1816-1922
« on: Friday 02 December 16 20:06 GMT (UK) »

Some of these records have now become available on-line.

Can anyone see a Service Record for Ernest Rencella Wilson (1897 - 1957). He was with the Auxiliary RIC from 1919 - 1922.

Cheers, Romilly.

Hi Dathai,

Yes, I've seen that Post before thanks. It doesn't contain the RIC Records. These have only recently been released online. Annoyingly my Subs to FindMyPast have now expired, but I wondered if someone on here could possibly check for me.

Romilly.

This is the only possibility I found on FindMyPast- I don't think they have the auxiliaries records only the RIC.
It refers to a shooting incident in Derryfinane /Derryfineen in 1921 in cork. the inquest is online at

http://theauxiliaries.com/INCIDENTS/casey-derryfinane-shot/
and you can see the statement given by ER Wilson.

Thanks for posting annclare. Yes, I had previously found the entries relating to the death of Jeremiah Casey. Very sad:-(
Ernest Rencella Wilson was Born in Swansea in August 1897. He was my late Uncle, although I never knew him. He Died in London in 1957.
I had thought that FindMyPast had new material, but as you say, just RIC, not the Auxiliaries.

Cheers, Romilly.
