Ok so according to a couple of trees on ancestry your uncle died in 1977 death registered in Salford district. Sept 1/4 vol 39 page 659
Service records from 1921 onwards are still held by the MoD
You can apply for your Uncle's service record but you will need his death certificate and 30 pounds.
The research guide at the National Archives explains and gives links.

His second marriage to Dorothea Robinson 1944 Birmingham registration district. according to the trees but they have his first wife as Bertha McMullen

I can't see a civilian death for either an Annie Moss or a Bertha Moss  who died during World War II and are commemorated on Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

Thank you for this.I do know that he was married first to Annie Darbyshire at St Andrews Eccles but I didn't know my Auntie Dora was called Dorothea.
I will follow up the other info you have sent & thank you so much.
