To Whom it May Concern

John Truswell Doughty, late of Manchester, is earnestly requested to communicate with his friends in England, or with his brother, William Doughty, King William street, Hamilton, Canada, West.

Interesting Genealiza... John T Doughty disappears to New York and his brother William is in Canada!.. could the John Doughty who ran off with the £100,000 in bonds be William's son??..

Thank you got your assistance so far..

Regards John

Hi so going on the above request in 1860 New York, can you confirm in fact John Doughty married Annie Robson Blyth 16th September 1851 St Thomas, Bishopwearmouth, then christened John Edward Doughty 1st July 1852 St Mary (Priory) Worksop, Father John Truswell Doughty Mother Anne Robson, then we have this baptism from Family Search:-

Alfred Herbert Wrigley Doughtie 2nd November 1865 Duddingston, Midlothian Father John Bately Wrigley Doughtie Mother Annie Robson Blyth?

So, was John T in Scotland for this baptism, if in fact it is the Alfred Herbert(shown in later returns) Doughty b c 1865 Scotland?

John Edward in 1861 b Worksop states his father is a Draper

This baptism has still not been fully replied to, eg was this the Alfred Herbert Doughty b 1865 Scotland in UK census returns, if him or not, was John T therefore possibly in Scotland c 1865

Alfred Herbert Doughty married Margaret Webster Dec qtr 1889 Ormskirk 8b 1189

EDIT For NoughtyDoughty85

John Truswell Doughty baptism 25th March 1827 Skegby Father William Mother Ann

In 1841 there is is a John Doughty aged 15 shown as Drapers Apprentice in The Square,  East Retford, Nottinghamshire

Wanted to run an 1871 census by you, especially Keyboard86

Adeline is in Middlesex I believe

RG10; Piece: 1333; Folio: 102; Page: 6

but rather than dismiss this one, there is a John Batley, not quite fitting but bear with me

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VFDY-258

John Batley    Head    M    55    Huddersfield, Yorkshire
Annie Batley    Wife    F    40    Sunderland, Durham
George Batley    Son    M    12    Manchester, Lancashire
Alfred Batley    Son    M    5    Haddington, Scotland

on the other site, they have him as 35
