Sarah Annie Tandy
« on: Thursday 08 December 16 20:08 GMT (UK) »
Sarah Annie Tandy's marriage was registered Q4 1893 in Chipping Sodbury registration district. I don't have the certificate, but was wondering if anyone is visiting Gloucester archives, would they be willing to take a look and see who her father is? I suspect the marriage took place in Hawkesbury.

Two girls called Sarah Tandy were born in Hawkesbury - one, Sarah Ann, to George Tandy and Elizabeth nee Winbow in Q1 1875; the other, Sarah Anne, to George's brother William and Eliza Summerfield Tandy in Q3 1876. I am trying to work out which Sarah is the one who married in 1893. Trees on Ancestry seem just as confused as to which is which.

Thanks
Lisa

She married Thomas Stinchcombe but no clues in either of the 2 censuses after marriage as to which family she belonged to.  She died 1957 so no full birthdate available

Bertha born circa 1894 MMN Sandy ?

Might not be on the right track but worth a consideration

Think the Sandy may be mistranscribed - I've seen it before in census transcripts for various Tandys.

Thomas looks to have married previously to Lucy Bleaken.

Yes  I think it is miss transcribed,  perhaps you will find them on 1911,

What about 1939 register, that should give you her date of birth

happy hunting

I've just looked on the 1939 and her birthdate is given as 30 July 1876, so I think that nails her as William and Eliza's daughter!
