She was recorded in the census as Mary Constance, but generally went under Constance, and sometimes Constance Mary.

The census that you found is one I have, and includes James - a son of James Pontifex born from a previous marriage. 

This is the only record that we have of the approximate year of birth for her - 1869/1870.

There is a Mary C Woods travelling Liverpool to New York  on the Kroonland - departing 11 October 1916 - Mary aged 34 years - born about 1882 - nurse.

UK Return Passenger List for Mary Woods born 1882 - New York to Plymouth. Arriving 17 April 1916.
SS Nieuw Amsterdam - Nurse. Going to Hythe Kent.

On this one she is still giving her correct age, but the travels on the ships are either not her, or she is lying.

For a lot of her trips she travelled with her sister Elvira so we have been able to confirm that it was actually Mary Constance/Constance M.  When she was not with Elvira the trail becomes a bit of guess work unfortunately.
