1851 & 1861 susan chick
« on: Monday 12 December 16 14:41 GMT (UK) »
Susan Chick was born in 1845 in Axminster to Henry and Sarah Chick.

I would be most grateful if someone could see if the family is recorded in the 1851 and 1861 census returns.

Many thanks

Could this be them in 1861? In Gloucester

Charles Chick    40 - tailor
Sarah Chick    39
Susannah Chick    15

RG 9, 1766, 7, 8

all b Axminster. Not sure how Henry becomes Charles, if they are the same family

Hi Mabel

If you mean the ones in St Aldgate Street, POB is Dean (Forest of Dean) on GR transcription.

 :-\ :)

Giggsy

Just looked at the image and the writing is pretty dire! Does look more like Axminster though.

Yes them, but if you look at the image POB is Axminster, Devon. the handwriting is a bit sharp, so maybe Devon has been misread as Dean

In the meantime, Gloucester Archives apparently have a record of a Henry Chick, tailor, pob Axminster c1821 being committed to prison in Feb 1861
