For what it's worth, I'd knock off the final "n" = Suzan.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Sorry to butt in, but just to say that it does look more like Suzann that Leezan on Sinann's link. There is an L on the other page but can't find an S for comparison.

Not capitals but have a look at the ss for sponsors.

Thank you all very much - sorry I'd not supplied reference, brain not working, I suspect. Why on earth didn't I think of "Susan(n)"? You might be amused to know that i only posted on here after I'd spent hours going carefully through my old battered "Dictionary of Saints", trying each name aloud and writing it out to try and find it. I'd so much got "Leezan" into my brain I couldn't "see" anything else.
Thank you all again, I'm really grateful ( and feeling a bit stupid!)
