Great Ashfield, Meekings family.

I'm looking for the parents and siblings of Kathleen Meekings who was born in Gt Ashfield in 1939 and died 2011. I have info about her husband but can't find anything about the rest of the family such as names and dates. All help welcome.

Is Meekings her married name or maiden name?

Have you found her birth on FreeBMD (I confess I cant see anything for that year for Kathleen Meekings, but maybe that us her married name)

Once you have found her birth , then you will have her mums maiden name. You can then look for siblings with the same surname and same mothers maiden name.  Once you have established the year of birth of the eldest, you can then look for a possible marriage for her parents.

As it is all relatively recent, we wont be able to post details here, siblings could well still be alive, and in theory if she was born when her parents were young, they could be too.

Her married name was Balls. I knew her and her husband Anthony, 'Tony', quite well for well over 30 years. Like you I can find no info on her birth on free BMD or my subscription site, or mother's maiden name, except that I know that it was 1939. They both passed away in 2011. As a wartime child she lived next to the perimeter of the Ashfield Airfield and would often get chocolates from the US airmen.

A search on Familysearch produces a Kathleen N born bury st edmunds 1939, the reg. district for Gt Ashfield,   try muk* as the surname.

Her name has been incorrectly listed as Mukings on Free BMD. Probably the double "e" has been mis-transcribed.
