In that case she may have to get the marriage certificate to get his father's name as George Brown is such a common name.

Another way, mrs bongo, would be to see if you can find George and Leah on the 1939 register as that would give his date of birth and narrow down when to look for him. Then using the GRO site you could find his mother's maiden name, from there, you can find a marriage and get their first names.

The marriage was at a register office http://www.westmidlandsbmd.org.uk/marriages.php so it is not even possible to look it up in church records.
