Hello there.

Those names Frederick and Mary BAYRAM rang distant bells, and upon digging out old 1993 correspondence from Gisborne, when I was researching pioneers there, I see I was sent some family history information in table form. A "Softdisk's Family tree" printout with info from the 1920's to 1993.

Late for bed now, and busy tomorrow morning, but if you contact me by PM I might have time tomorrow [Sunday] afternoon to scan and forward what info I can find in my old files.

Still have good helpful contacts within the Gisborne Genealogy Society, so together we should be able to help.

Good night.

Hello again.

Thanks for the private contact info.

Quick look over breakfast.

Your BAYRAM connection appears to be unique to/in NZ.

Only one white page [Gisborne] listing within NZ, though Telecom is no longer a monopoly. And few cell no's in it, no matter what service supplier.

Just five Govt records listings involving Frederick, Mary & Ronald BAYRAM [All deceased]

Just seven Gisborne interment records.

I will have access to photos and other stuff, but it is a case of digging them out.

This afternoon hope to scan the family tree held.

If the family member in NZ can make their way to Gisborne I'm sure they will be well received.

Hi again.

Until now had forgotten about the "Gisborne Photo News" archive.

A good selection of indexed family member, photo hits.

Thank you for your trouble and subsequent information.

It would appear that the gentleman concerned is a distant relative, I still have to update my online tree but, I believe he comes down from my GGGrandfather.  I had been following the wrong line.  Shall let you know in due course.

You are welcome Andrew.

All the best for your on going research. From the little I did, it would appear that the surname BAYRAM is quite uncommon. My Gisborne contact is from another branch of the Atkins line, where two brothers Atkins, were pioneer settlers at Patutahi, 10 miles out from Gisborne, in sheep country.

They get a mention in the CYCLOPEDIA of NZ [Auckland Edition 1903?]

In mid January my Atkins contact, would be happy to make enquiries of her distant cousin, re a family meet, if that is important to you and your research.
