Can anyone help to find out when Florence went to South Africa.
 
She was born 6/10/1923, 432  Dumbarton Road, Dalmuir, parents Alexander Cameron Ferrier and Catherine Love, married Charles Grindley, Rutherglen, 1946 and died 2/3/1992.

Did she go to SA sometime before her marriage and then return to Scotland?

If after her marriage she presumably travelled to SA as Grindley - not Ferrier

Did she die in SA?

Any children born in Scotland?  Please don't give any names - just birthyears as it helps determine a likely travel date?  Any children born in SA?

Hi,

I have now found a record on another site that has her dying in Durban, South Africa.  This is not confirmed with a death certificate.  I think she went after her marriage and if she had children I haven't found any records here. 

I have emailed ScotlandsPeople  about the different spelling on the marriage - Spouse Surname Gringlay, Spouse details Charles Grindley.

That is all I have been able to find to date.

There is a record of a Mrs F Gertrude Grindlay age 30 birth year 1923 departure 28/4/1953 Liverpool going to Montreal Canada ..Ship Empress of Australia
Charles Grindlay age 28 occupation draughtsman also 2 young  children
Address they came from 3,Macdonald Crescent Clydebank Glasgow ?

Looks like this is the same Florence another departure record 9 November 1955 Liverpool going to Montreal Canada gives  her birth date as 6/10/23..Same address came from travelling with female   child b1951 .male child 1952

Thank you for finding all this information.  It now means that I have relations that I knew nothing about.  Her children being near to my age.  Still struggling to find the South African move.
