Hiya all, looking for information on my great grandparents, Bartholomew Daly born around 1850 who married Mary Lawlor in 1882 in Limerick, I think. Also, John Bourke born around 1830 who married Kate Tierney in 1868 in Lurriga R.C. Church, Co. Limerick. It's possible that John Bourke may have had the surname spelling of Burke.

Bartholomew Daly and Mary Lawlor had the following children in Limerick, probably in Kilcolman: Margaret (Peggy) Daly b. Feb., 10th 1889, Bartholomew Daly b. 1891, Daniel Daly b. 1893, My Grandmother, Anne Daly, (Bourke) born in 1895 in Kilcolman, Co. Limerick, Timothy Daly b. 1896, Joseph Daly b. 1898 and Kathleen Daly b. 1900. Most birth years are approximate to within a year or so. (Bartholomew's father was John Daly and Mary Lawlor's father was Patrick Lawlor.)

John Bourke and Kate Tierney had the following children: Mary Bourke b. Dec., 1868, Catherine Bourke b. July, 1870, Michael Bourke b. Sept., 25th 1872, Ellen Bourke b. July, 1875, Bridget (Biddy) Bourke b. Feb., 28th, 1878, John Bourke b. Nov., 29th, 1879, Elizabeth Bourke b. May 18th, 1882 and my Grandfather, Arthur Bourke born in Breska, Clarina, Co. Limerick on July 28th, 1885. My Grandparents are buried in Clounanna Cemetery, Patrickswell, Co. Limerick. I'm pretty sure all of the children of John & Kate were born in Breska, Clarina, Co. Limerick.

My Grandparents had the following children between 1921 and 1934, births given in date order: Catherine Bourke (My Mother), John Bourke, Anne Bourke, Michael Bourke, Mary Bourke, Arthur (Art) Bourke, William (Bill) Bourke and Ellen Bourke, all born in Curraghbridge, Adare, Co. Limerick. (Arthur (Art) and William (Bill) were identical twins and John, Michael and Mary died as infants the oldest being Michael aged 8 years.... so sad thinking of how my grandparents must have felt at their losses at the time, it must be dreadful to lose a child.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a lot in that post and its late so to get you started.
30 May 1882
Bartholomew Daly Mary Laulor marriage (it does look like a 'u' but most likely a spelling error, childrens Certs will help)
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01j32/ (note link to image of cert)
You should be able to find the children's births there as well.

From the 1901 and 1911 Ireland census returns linked in this previous topic, the townland of Glendiheen is a known connection: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=720533.0

And a fairly long standing connection, eg. note the address in this birth of Bartholemew junior in 1891:
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1891/02394/1892943.pdf

So just a possibility here (Kilcolman RC parish) in the form of a Bartholemew baptised on 2 June 1852 for parents John Daley and Margaret Enright of 'Glendihen' (left page, 4th entry down from top): http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000634987#page/33/mode/1up

Same couple had other children baptised: Patrick 1841; John 1845; James 1848; John 1850; Michael 1855; Maria 1857.

And this from Newcastle West RC parish, 2 February 1840, the marriage of a John Daley and a Margaret Enright (right page, top entry):
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000635003#page/137/mode/1up

Edited to add: Griffiths Valuation shows a Catherine Daly and a Patrick Enright in Glendiheen, the local printing date was 1852.

To Gaffy..........Thanks so much, the birth record for Bartholomew is correct, I knew it was around 1891 but I now know it was Feb., 1st. The marriage for John Daly to Margaret Enright looks good too, it's certainly the right area and time frame. I can't thank you enough, it's great to move forward and thanks so much for getting back to me with this, really appreciated.
Is there any way of being able to see the pages after Bartholomew's birth entry of 1st
Feb? I could then probably see his brothers' and sisters' birthdates. Thanks again Gaffy, excellent job!... I've been trying to move forward on this for years!

Sinann, thanks very much indeed, you're right about the u, I'm still undecided on the spelling. It could be Laulor but I'm sticking with Lawlor as I've seen it more often than Laulor. Much appreciated. My next task is to find death dates for John Daly and his wife Margaret (Enright), this marriage info. was kindly supplied today by another very kind member. Thanks again for taking the time to help me, you people on this site are great! ;) Ken

Thanks again Gaffy but Bartholomew Daly not there which casts some doubt over mother being Enright. Bartholomew was born around 1850 I believe. Ken

I was just looking for that place name and thought Glendiheen was the most likely, it south of Kilcolman just going to look at it a bit more.
